Job description
• Ensuring one off payments are made and regular payments are kept up
• Managing payroll and all appropriate financial systems for employment and payment of staff salaries, including payments to freelance workers, RTI and auto enrolment
• Dealing with expense claims and setting up systems for travel and expenses
• Handling all aspects of PAYE
• Drawing up cheques for signature
• Ensuring all appropriate material is kept for audit trail
• Managing direct debit systems for regular payments
• Posting payments under agreed headings
• Drawing up VAT returns and dealing with any VAT queries
• Dealing with VAT inspections and preparing partial exemption certification.
• Posting sales and purchase invoices to correct nominal codings and maintaining the ledgers on a monthly basis
• Posting petty cash on a weekly basis
• Posting weekly cash statements from the tills and reconciliations
• Backchecking and posting credit card statements

Preparing:
• Weekly and year end bank reconciliations
• Management accounts for Board members by 3rd Mon each month
• Briefing for meeting with Finance sub on following Weds each month (time to be agreed)
• Draft for annual budget
• Analysis of various areas of the organisation’s activities when requested eg café performance
• Monthly cash flow projections with the Treasurer/Finance sub group
• Financial information for funders on request from Treasurer/Board Chair
• Preparing capital goods tax returns

Overall:
• Ensuring the Courthouse has sound financial systems, inc. cash management.
• Making regular financial reports to the Board
• Alerting the Treasurer and Board to any financial problems
• Six monthly health check with Centre Manager, Treasurer, Board Chair
• Liaising with accountant
• Advising on appropriate financial systems as necessary
